01
What type of coffee is Pana Pura?
Pana Pura is premier specialty coffee sourced from high elevations in Central America specifically in Panama in the Chiriqui Providence. Regions such as Boquete, Volcan and Cerro Punta are known in the coffee world as producing some of the worlds best tasting coffee. Some wining awards and selling at auctions for $2,000 per pound! Yes 2k USD for one pound! (not a typo).
02
How is it so smooth and low in acidity?
Our beans are comprised of certain varietals which are carefully grown and harvested in shade environments at high attitudes with fertile nutrient rich volcanic soil. A combination of these elements yield quality bean profiles that are in a class of their own.
03
How are the beans roasted?
We generally opt for a medium to full city roast with minor exceptions to preserve favoring and notes. We don't do the "Burnt" coffee taste as some famous brands do and sell for $6-$8 a cup! Neither do we drum roast like they do. Rather, we use a very unique and delicate way of roasting (fluid bed AKA air roasting). This way our beans NEVER touch a hot surface but are roasted at high air temperatures all the while floating in mid air versus tumbling in a drum. With this artisanal technique and coveted degassing method we accomplish a high quality consistent bean profile roast.
04
Where/When do we roast?
We roast within a week or a few days prior to when our customer orders! This ensures the best possible quality and freshness. We roast in Central California.
05
Where are the beans from?
We buy DIRECTLY from the farmers in Panama (no middleman) With exception of certain blends that contain both Panamanian beans as well as other regions outside of Panama, we only buy from approved trade importers.
06
What else are in the beans?
Nothing ...just 100% Arabica Beans (certain SKUs such as Blue Berry Baru does contain a hint of artificial flavoring.
07
What is meant by bird friendly / shade grown and the other badges of high honor?
A lot is meant... protecting the ecosystem, ethical standards for farmers & workers, enabling the environment to assist in natural production using fertile soil, encouraging the preservation of tropical bird habitation and so much more!
08
Do we offer ground or whole beans?
Currently we only ship whole beans...again freshness is key. Our 2oz sample packs however are ground for those that want to try our coffee.
09
Decaf?
---Coming soon and it will be hit we promise!
